Program Description: Federal censuses are basic to family history research, but many other censuses can help us find our ancestors. We need to use all the information in censuses to our best advantage. We’ll look at how to turn those “tick-mark” censuses (1790-1840) into useful information and at census substitutes that can locate our ancestors in time and place between the censuses.
